Job Description:
Database Administrator Responsibilities:
Oracle Database:
- Oracle Database Architecture: Installation, configuration, and upgrading of Oracle server in a standalone or RAC environment (Linux and Windows both).
- Implementing high availability solutions using Oracle Real Application Cluster.
- Implementing DR solutions using Oracle Standby Database using Oracle Data Guard.
- Start and Stop of Oracle Database Services.
- Migrating schemas using traditional exp/imp and Oracle Datapump utilities.
- Cross-platform migration.
- Usage of Oracle RMAN.
- Usage of Alert logs.
- Familiar with Oracle CPU and PSU patching procedures.
- Generating and Analyzing Oracle AWR and ADDM Reports.
- Monitor the data backup process and perform data recovery if needed.
- Study database-related issues that could affect the database production infrastructure and document the problems.
- Develop scripts to automate functions and processes, and monitor database performance.
- Understanding and hands-on experience of AWS RDS Aurora architecture.
- Installation, configuration, and upgrading of MySQL database standalone and AWS RDS cluster.
- Implementing MySQL database HA using Matser-Slave configuration.
- Implementing RDS Aurora cluster in single and cross-region read replica mode.
- Backup and restore the MySQL database.
- Start and Stop MySQL Database Services.
- Should be capable and experienced in managing a large amount of data(In TBs).
- Strong in core Linux commands.
- Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Core Oracle Database knowledge (12c and 19c), including RAC/ASM.
- Strong Core AWS RDS Database knowledge.
- Strong SQL, PL/SQL, and shell /Perl scripting skills.
- Basic knowledge of Cloud (OCI, AWS, or AZURE)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Manager
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle and MySQL database technologies and architecture.
- Knowledge of best practices in database management.
- Knowledge of the PostgreSQL database is beneficial.
